Whether you’re an eager amateur snapper or a professional photographer, there’s a huge variety of competitions to suit your style, skills and strengths. From international awards to UK only comps, we’ve rounded up a few photography competitions that will help you test your talents.

BigPicture Natural World
Closing date - 15th March 2017

This contest not only celebrates and illustrates the diversity in our society, but inspires action to protect and conserve it through imagery. This competition is perfect for photographers, who specialise in capturing wildlife and nature or want to challenge themselves in the genre. The competition is chaired by award-winning photographer, Suzi Eszterhas, which is a bonus if you’re a fan.

The categories for this competition include: Art of Nature, Aquatic Life, Winged Life, Landscapes, Waterscapes and Flora, Terrestrial Wildlife, Human/Nature and Photo Series: Aerial Photography.

Prizes -
The winner will receive the grand prize of $5,000 while the first place winners will receive $1,000. All the winners will also be featured in an exhibition at the California Academy of Sciences.

Entry Information -
Each photographer can enter any category. It costs $25 for up to ten single image submissions in any category. If you want to enter a photo series (three-five images) then it costs $15 per series. For any more information check out the official website.

Take A View - Landscape Photographer of the Year
Opening date - 1st May 2017
Closing date - 14th June 2017

Founded in 2006, Take A View is the UK’s ultimate landscape competition. Ideal for both enthusiasts and experts, the competition aims to highlight the fresh and diverse portrait of the British landscape. From stunning coastal views to bustling cities, this competition attracts all sorts of imagery.

The categories for this competition includes: Classic View, Living The View, Your View and Urban View. This competition is great for landscape photographers and fashion photographers that dabble in street style photography.

Prizes -
In each category the winner will receive £10,000, the first runner up will get £1,000 and the second runner up will receive £500.  The best images will be displayed in the Waterloo train station, in London, and will also put together in a beautiful book.

Entry Information -
Each photographer is required to pay an entry fee of £35 and that allows them to submit 25 images. For more information visit the official website.

ND Awards 2017
Closing date - 14th May 2017

This annual contest aims to promote photographs and the people who create them. ND Awards recognises and celebrates the worldwide talent of the fine art communities. The idea behind the competition is to create a new opportunity to present the most valuable work to audiences across the world. Entries will be judged by an international panel, allowing photographers - both amateurs and professionals alike - from all over the world to enter.

Prizes -
The Photographer of the Year receives $2,500 and Discovery of the Year wins $1,300. The six pro-category winners will get $500 each and five non-pro category winners receive $300 each. There’s also a selection of certificates and medals to be won.

Entry Information -
