History of Digital Photo Printing - Parrot Print


Our digital canvas printing uses seriously hi-tech equipment to achieve a superb quality finish on every canvas we print. While the printers we use are likely to be vastly different to the digital printer you might have in your own home, at home equipment and professional digital printers share the same technological roots and a similar evolution story. With this in mind, we decided to put together this infographic, which runs through some interesting facts and figures to give you an introduction to the history of the digital printer.

It might seem like at home printers have always been around but did you know that HP made the first plain-paper inkjet printer back in 1988? Landscape printing wasn’t even an option until a later model was launched. You may also remember the inconvenience of switching black and colour cartridges in and out of your printer since HP only made space for the two types of cartridges to sit alongside each other in 1992!
